2011 Coming To A Close!

Dear Donors, Friends, and Volunteers,

2011 is coming to an end which is really a new beginning with 2012 picking up where it left off. We had such a successful year donating over 840 cases with your help in donating not only funds, but your time. This is no small feat! CFC would be nowhere without the generosity of our donors and volunteers.

2012 is exciting as there are great changes on the horizon! We will be getting a face lift on our website very soon. We will be having fundraising and donation opportunities as we work towards the goal of adding a second cancer center to our donation list. We want to make sure we do it when the time is right and we can adequately serve them.

What do we need to expand? Funding first and foremost. We need to be able to fund the fabric that we put into ready to sew kits. Whether you can help us with funds or donate actual fabric (fabric specifications are available under our donation tab) we appreciate it! Volunteers are our second but equally important part of the equation. We need to increase our pool of volunteers so that we can make the additional cases to supply the new location. We need people willing to help staff events for new sewing volunteers and help us fundraise.

If you feel called to help in anyway, please email us at casesforcheer@gmail.com.

We thank everyone involved in making 2011 a great donation year. We know in our hearts that we are bringing cheer to those who need a little extra love. And we hear our Christmas themed cases are a hit with the kids this year! We are so excited!

Wine Tour Fundraiser... Success!!!!

We just hosted our first wine tour fundraiser and what a success it was! We had a beautiful day in Amador County visiting 3 Plymouth Wineries, which were so gracious to host our large group! A special thank you to Dobra Zemlja , Sobon Family Winery, and Montevina Terra D'Oro. These wonderful wineries allowed our limo bus from Neumann Limosine ,who gave us a great rate, to come in and slightly invade their tasting rooms. We had a wonderful picnic lunch at Dobra, which was sponsored by Raleys and Nugget Markets. Thank you to both markets for helping us make this a tasty and successful day!

We are so thankful to all the wonderful participants who made the day so fun!!! We will be planning another wine tour in spring, so if you are interested please email us at casesforcheer@gmail.com We would love to have you join us!

Exciting News!!!

Here at Cases For Cheer, Inc. we feel so truly blessed by those we have met, come into contact with, and have been helped by. Our latest blessing comes in the form of a Public Relations firm in Sacramento, California by the name of Mering Carson.

Mering Carson held a create-a-thon, where they accept applications from non-profits and then do a pro-bono 24-hour miracle in terms of helping these non-profits with marketing in every kind of medium. The miracle for Cases For Cheer, is they have helped us Re-Vamp our website. If you can't tell, I am a plug and play kind of girl, and they have taken that into consideration and found us a new format, a new brand and marketing plan!

The staff at Mering Carson were so genuine, warm and talented. We are so excited and grateful for their time, their sleepless night, and sharing their expertise and talents with us. When we walked in and saw this place, it was so fascinating! Madison's eyes were huge and she is so excited for this experience!!!

Madison started Cases to help others, it never dawned on us, that she would in anyway benefit, but these life experiences she is gaining are priceless. We thank the whole design team, production team, I cannot remember all the titles, but EVERYONE at Mering Carson.

Please keep checking back, after all is completed casesforcheer.org will have a new look and more ways to help us, help others!

Time is flying!!!

Time is flying and I cannot believe the year is half way finished!!! My oh my how busy we have been! We have held a couple of sewing classes at the Elk Grove Country Sewing Center! They have been so generous in donating their time to our organization!!! If you are interested in attending a sewing event, we will be holding one late summer and then again in fall.

We have had continued support from our regular volunteers which has been the life's blood of Cases For Cheer. Without them we would be still at 15 cases a month, but due to our donors, and our volunteers who have been so loyal we have been able to continuously provide the patients of UC Davis Cancer center with 70 cases a month!!!

We are also going to be holding a garage sale, in July to help raise funds to keep us running so if you have any thing you have been wanting to clean out that is of saleable condition, please contact Jenn at casesforcheer@gmail.com

Catching up!!!

Whew! I had no idea it had been so long since I have posted! Idle posting however, does not mean we have not been working hard!!! Cases has officially increased our monthly donation to 70 cases a month! We have begun splitting them between the Pediatric and Adult infusion centers and have added the radiation department as well! We are so excited by the support we are receiving from our volunteers and donors to keep us going strong!!! I think back to July 2009, when we took our first delivery of 15 cases, and I am amazed by how we have grown. It is so exciting, and fulfilling. We are hearing from patients occasionally, and that really keeps our focus, we ARE making a difference!!!

While our cases are making a difference for the patients in a tangible way, we also wanted to help in a way we can reach many more. Cases for Cheer, Inc, has a team for the Elk Grove Relay For Life. We ask you to join our team, or to sponsor us!!! We definitely need to grow our team in order to be able to make the 24 hour requirement for the Relay! Please Join us!!! 70 Case Milestone

Cases For Cheer, Inc., is excited to announce that we are now up to donating 70 cases a month! We donated 70 in December and again this month!!! Just think a year and a half ago we started this with only 15 a month going to the infusion center!

Madison was able to hand them out today! She went in and met some girls approximately her age and some younger, and even a little boy. Our latest fabrics with peace signs are going over like hotcakes! We hope to find more of that fabric! We are still really low on boy fabrics, so if anyone wants to make any donations of boy fabrics or money towards boy fabrics, please contact us!

We are also pleased to announce that we will be working with our first Girl Scout group helping them with their sewing badge as they help us create cases! Thank you to Country Sewing Center for allowing us to use your facility!!!

Also We will be posting several classes coming up at the Running Zone on Elk Grove Blvd!!! Thank you Mimi and the Running Zone!
