How Cases Got Started!

My name is Madison, I am 10 years old. We started this blog to let people know about my new project called - Cases for Cheer, Inc. I started this in honor of my Aunt Willie. She had been fighting Ovarian Cancer for 8 years, when she lost her fight on July 4th 2009. Last Christmas (2008) my Grandma Gail helped me make pillowcases for my Christmas gifts. I ended up making approximately 60 in all! For my Aunt Willie, I made a cheerful pillowcase in a carnival theme because I wanted to cheer her up. I had no idea what it would really do for her. She has told me she has taken it to every chemo treatment, When she was critical in the hospital at UC Davis Medical Center she kept it with her on her bed. The nurses and everyone that saw it commented on it, and Aunt Willie would smile. One day while talking to my mom I realized that while I can't cure cancer but I can make people with cancer a little happier. I asked my mom if we can make pillowcases for others, and she loved the idea. So, in honor of my Aunt Willie, Cases for Cheer was born. I may be a little kid but I can make a big difference. Please join me!
