Elk Grove Citizen Interview!

Yesterday Madison, was interviewed by Katie Freeman a reporter with our local newspaper, the Elk Grove Citizen!  Maddie was so nervous she told me after the interview, but to be honest, I didn't even noticed, she was cool, calm and collected.  She said she just wanted to get the news out there about CFC so we can expand!  Normally, I don't toot my own horn.... or in this case her own horn, but I am soooo proud of her! She exceeded my expectations and everything she said came from her heart we did no coaching or preparing, so we are hoping for a stellar article with all of Madison's heart woven through it.

You can pick on up at the Elk Grove Citizen Office, or at local stores that carry them for 35 cents!  They will be coming out this Friday on May 21st!!!  Hopefully they will also post it online for those of you who are not local.  Anyone out of town can contact us and we will try to get you a copy!

Testimonials

Please take a look at our newest page. You will see our pages listed to the right.  Testimonials is our newest page and we will be including correspondence with permission from those who wrote us, to share the difference Cases For Cheer, Inc. is making in the lives of those that have cancer.  Please take the time to read the letters from Nancy Lewis, an RN Charge Nurse at the UCDMC pediatric infusion center. You will see that your donations really do make a difference in the life of a child and of a patient at the UC Davis Medical Centers pediatric and adult infusion centers.

Check Out Our New Logo!

We were fortunate enough to have Mary Winter at Winter Advertising Agency create a logo for us!  Mary was awesome and took some of Madison's ideas and ran with it!  We are pleased to unveil this logo!

Coming to a Television Near You!!!

Hello everyone!  We just got word that Madison will be doing two interviews!  One for a local newspaper and one for a local morning television news show!  Woo Hoo!!!  We surely hope this will help us get the word out and grow our organization!!!  We will definitely let you know when both happen and when you can catch them on your tv, and in the paper!

We couldn't have gotten this far with the help and support of our family, friends, and the volunteers and those who have taken up our cause to help us!  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for getting us going!  Please keep spreading the word so that we may keep up the growth and get those cases flowing out to the cancer centers for the patients who need to be cheered on in the fight for their lives.

God Bless.

May Delivery and More!

May 10th we delivered our pillowcases to the UC Davis Cancer Center. Patti Robinson the volunteer coordinator for the Cancer Center Resource Center was extremely thrilled with the new fabrics and how diverse they were. We were able to deliver cases for Men, Women, and children! We had everything from fishing, to cupcakes, to cats and dogs. We even had some cool race car prints with flames!

Cases For Cheer works hard to make these special for the patients who receive them.  Each are packaged in their own bag for sanitation purposes and labeled with our mission on them.  It is important to us that the patients are able to access them freely and know that people out there care.  We will be adding baskets to the infusion rooms for ease of distribution with our next delivery!

We are here for the patients, so if you are a patient at UC Davis Cancer Center, we want to hear from you! Suggestions, comments, let us know how we are doing!  If you are a doctor or patient at another local cancer center, let us know if you wish to have our Cases at your facility!  We wish to expand and reach you all!

First Sewing Class June 2nd!!! New Donation Opportunities!

CFC, Inc. is holding it's first sewing class on June 2nd at 630 pm at The Running Zone on Elk Grove Blvd.  Mimi Viega was kind enough to loan out their location!  If you sew or know someone who does, please pass this on!  We need those experienced people who sew (men or women!) to come learn our pattern so that we can increase our sewing circle and grow our production to possibly expand our donations to other area cancer centers!!! We will have kits on hand that you can take home and sew!  Please RSVP so we know how many to have, and if you can, please bring your machine! The Running Zone is also taking fabric donations.  Fabric needs to be very soft (good thread count) 100% cotton, so that it is breathable for patients as they get hot, and clammy and have said that these work great!  The fabric also needs to be from a 42" bolt or larger for our pattern. We love vibrant, cheerful patterns and need fabric for men, women and children!

Please note our new pages for "In Memory Of" and "In Honor Of".  You can now donate in memory or in honor of someone special to you, and their names will be listed on these walls.  With Mother's day approaching, this is a wonderful way to honor the ones you love!

Also, for about $7 you can provide a cancer patient with a pillowcase that will cheer them up during their treatments and hospital stays!  For $7 you can hardly buy a lunch out anymore!  Please think about how many cases you can donate this month, and help us, help others!
